This post is an exciting opportunity to lead a series of key registry functions within the Student and Academic Services (SAS) team at the University of Greenwich. The remit includes Academic Registry and Timetabling, International Compliance and Advice and Admissions and Student Records and is a member of the SAS Directorate Leadership Team.
The postholder will provide leadership and oversight to each of the functions of Student Registry and will be the university lead on student regulations, policies and procedures. They will work with faculties and professional service directorates in the co-ordination and successful delivery of major administrative tasks within Student and Academic Services and contribute to the delivery of the strategic plans of the directorate and university. In particular this postholder will be a process improvement champion, reviewing key processes within the directorate and identifying ways to improve their impact and efficiency. The role is the chair of various key working groups and attends Academic Council and is the core product owner for the university’s Student Records System (Banner).
Essential knowledge, skills & experience:
- Expert knowledge and understanding of the UK HE sector and regulatory frameworks, or a demonstrable ability to develop this quickly
- Experience of strategic management and development in a large and complex corporate environment
- Experience of leading, motivating and managing large teams in a service-focused or customer-facing environment
- Effective leader and manager of multi-skilled, multi-professional task-oriented teams.
- Experience of giving direction to others on managing and prioritising team workloads, frequently operating under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience of the strategic application of IT and web based systems in the delivery of services.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an outcomes-focused approach to service development and delivery
