REQ01422
The Faculty Registrar is a vital role that enables the University to drive forward and implement change: influencing and contributing to the development of central University policies, leading the delivery of responsive Faculty and School-based academic administrative services and operations within a more consistent overall University framework.
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education was recently created from the merger of two existing faculties and brings together a diverse range of programmes and professionals. This is an opportunity to lead in creating a new professional services team and to influence the culture and ethos of the new faculty. Results will include efficient use of resources, enhanced service delivery to staff and students, effective communication between and across all staff, improved data quality and reporting, and clearer accountability for crucial processes.
Working closely with and influencing senior staff in key institution-wide roles (including but not exclusively Planning and Academic Administration; Quality & Standards; Finance; Education, Enhancement & Student Experience; Enterprise, Employability & Research Development; HR & Organisational Development; Marketing & Communications; International Partnerships & Development, and IT).
The role carries a high level of autonomy and the post holder is expected to be resilient and a solution-finder, managing their own time. The successful appointee will be expected to shape the role according to the specific needs of the Faculty in the context of agreed University policies and procedures. Faculty Registrars are expected to work collaboratively and collegially across a number of key strategic themes.
Applicants will be expected to show a track record of leading cross-function and multi-disciplinary teams and having successfully managed and implemented change. They will need to demonstrate strong financial experience, the ability to work effectively with academic and professional service roles and a track record of leading, developing and engaging teams of staff towards shared goals.
