Do you have what it takes to plan a strategic approach and deliver our flagship events at the University of Nottingham? We are seeking an experienced events manager to lead a programme ranging from staging guest lectures by luminaries such as author Bill Bryson or fashion magnate Sir Paul Smith; delivering award ceremonies that celebrate the achievements of our world-leading academics; and designing our annual festival of diversity.
The University of Nottingham is one of the world’s leading research-intensive universities. We are renowned for the quality and entrepreneurialism of our graduates and the global scale and reach of our research. The Communications and Advocacy team is responsible for promoting and stewarding the University’s reputation and engaging our audiences.
With specialists in media relations, internal communications and political and civic affairs, we inform and engage staff and students, broadcasters and newspapers, and politicians, policymakers and publics in the UK and across the globe. We highlight the University’s successes and build trust and advocacy for its mission, enhancing our public reputation to support our strategic aims for education, research, student recruitment and global influence.
As Head of Corporate Events, you will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Communications and Advocacy team and across the wider University to develop and deliver a programme of outstanding in-person and virtual events to support the University’s reputational ambitions and ensure staff and student engagement.
You will be responsible for managing a team and resources to develop a strategic approach to our corporate events programme which integrates with our broader communications activity. Using innovative and creative thinking, you will also provide professional advice, direction and input across a range of activities based on your knowledge of event programme design and management.
If you have the skills, experience and a strategic mindset to develop an events programme that truly showcases the best of our University, then we would like to hear from you.
