The University is seeking a proactive, highly motivated, knowledgeable and experienced cybersecurity leader based within the IT team, in a full time, permanent position, to input into the overall IT strategy and provide strategic leadership for the development of technical cybersecurity defences and processes.

To drive and be accountable for a comprehensive approach towards information security across the University, including providing effective response and protection of systems, information, continuity plans and programmes for the Universities IT requirements. This position requires provision of strategic direction and leadership that underpins the University’s future vision.

About You

  • Proactive, visible leader who can simplify the complexities of information security
  • Proactive approach to continual process improvement
  • Knowledge of risk principles, practices and concepts (ITIL, COBIT, OWASP, STRIDE)
  • Demonstrable knowledge and hands-on experience with firewalls, anti-virus software, system administration, SIEM, Internet and web filtering, identity management, intrusion prevention and detection, incident management and privilege management
  • Relevant experience in a similar role within Information Security
  • Good knowledge of commercial security offerings from multiple vendors

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Computer Science or Information Security discipline
  • CISSP, CISM or CEH certified
  • ISO27001 Lead Implementer certified
  • PCI-DSS ISA Certified
  • ITIL Certified

Desirable

  • CBCI or ISO22301 Lead implementer certified
  • GDPR Practitioner
