An exciting maternity cover opportunity has arisen within the Development Office at the University of Kent. If you are experienced in the management of stewardship programmes and the recognition of donors, this could be your chance to join our dynamic, innovative and friendly team.
The Senior Stewardship Officer will have substantial fundraising experience and a track record of dealing with donors and/or major gifts, along with an understanding of stewardship programmes and a high standard of personal and work presentation.
As Senior Stewardship Officer you will:
- Develop, implement and maintain a cohesive and structured programme of stewardship and recognition for all individuals (alumni and friends), charitable trusts and foundations, companies and other organisations making donations to the University
- Maintain the University’s day-to-day relationship with a number of key donors
- Work with the Head of Development and colleagues within the Development Team on methods of donor recognition for gifts and significant anniversaries of giving.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Significant fundraising experience and proven track record of dealing with donors and/or major gifts
- Experience of fundraising principles and practice, particularly stewardship programmes
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with a track record of communicating complex information to a variety of audiences
The role is part-time, 21 hours per week, for a fixed term of 12 months.
