We are looking for an exceptional individual who can play a leading role in delivering the Citizen Student Education Plan. You will be an experienced leader in higher education with sector-leading experience in digital education, curriculum design and academic development.

The Dean of Academic Innovation is a new role and you will lead a newly created Centre for Academic Innovation across the areas of academic development, curriculum design, learning design and digital education.

You will report to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost and work closely with the PVC Student Experience and the Faculty Deans to ensure that we have excellent student outcomes.

You will bring extensive leadership and management experience and will have expert knowledge of current sector issues and best practice in learning, teaching and assessment. You will be a confident communicator with proven experience in developing and implementing institutional strategy, including a strong track record of successful project and programme delivery.

An Undergraduate degree (or equivalent professional qualification), and a Higher degree in a relevant professional specialism (or equivalent evidence of significant and continuing professional development), as well as Senior Fellowship of the HEA, are essential. Being a professor as well as a Principal Fellow or National Teaching Fellow would be an advantage.

You will be based primarily at the University’s Exton Park site in Chester but with opportunities for flexible and remote working, alongside regular travel to other University sites including Shrewsbury and Warrington.
