Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Science

Expires

13th March 2022

The University of Nottingham is a pioneering and globally engaged university that provides an exceptional research-led education and an outstanding student experience. As one of the top 20 UK universities in the QS World Rankings and THE World University Rankings 2022, our impact is felt across the globe. We have over 46,000 students studying across our three locations, and we employ over 9,000 people worldwide.

The Faculty of Science comprises seven schools (Biosciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematical Sciences, Pharmacy, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology), each offering innovative teaching in a world-class research-intensive context.

This is a key post on the university’s executive board, and one that will provide strategic and visionary leadership for a significant portion of the university.  The Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) will provide compelling leadership to the faculty, developing a high performing faculty leadership team to deliver both strategic and operational outcomes.  They will also work collaboratively with centrally provided, locally delivered professional support functions.

We are seeking an academic leader who can deliver on our dual mission of providing a learning and teaching agenda of the highest quality alongside a research profile that is both internationally leading and impactful.  In line with the university’s mission, the faculty PVC will be an empowering and inspiring leader, able to build dynamic partnerships externally and internally, and perform ambassadorial duties on behalf of the university. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference at the University of Nottingham.

As a faculty, and as part of the wider university, we are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in all our activities, and we encourage candidates from under-represented groups to consider applying for this opportunity.
