The Post
The UPSU Projects Team is a flexible and responsive function that coordinates resources across the Union and supports the delivery of projects, campaigns and events quickly to meet student needs. This function ensures projects remain on track and objectives are met. There are three Projects Specialists within the team. This post specifically requires the postholder to support the delivery of Elected Officer campaigns, manifesto points and wider Union projects as part of the team’s delivery. They are experts in leading on a range of physical and digital student campaigns and they have experience in managing both operational and reputational risk, supporting Elected Officers to achieve their goals and additionally have an understanding of the wider student sector.
The Person
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, inspirational individual who is passionate about delivering an excellent student centred service. The post-holder will have experience of leading and managing projects and supporting and motivating people. The successful postholder will have strong project management skills and be able to devise, plan and execute appropriate activity to deliver change required by members of the Elected Officer team and student community. They will also have experience of managing multiple projects at once and a detailed understanding of the Higher Education sector, in particular Student Unions and student Campaigns. In addition, the post-holder will have excellent communication and organisation skills, an understanding of best practice in project management, a good understanding of risk management and the skills and ability to handle competing priorities. We encourage candidates who have good evidence of transferable skills as well as direct project management and campaigning/HE experience.
