The post-holder is responsible for the efficient and high-quality delivery of Cardiff University’s political engagement and influencing stakeholders at a local, Welsh and UK level. The role involves shaping and advancing Cardiff University’s Public Affairs strategy, providing advice, guidance and support to a range of internal stakeholders, and working extensively to maintain corporate relationships with external stakeholders in order to sustain and build Cardiff University’s reputation with political decision-makers and opinion-formers.
The post-holder is also responsible for the development and strategic oversight of the university’s Civic Mission sub-strategy, building and maintaining internal relationships to ensure that Civic Mission is properly understood across the institution and aligned to other relevant activities.
As part of the Communications and Marketing Department, the post-holder will lead the team’s support of the University’s strategy, raising the profile of Cardiff University’s work, promoting our ambitions and achievements, demonstrating the impact and value of our research, teaching and learning, and as a key player in economic and social development.
The post-holder is expected to work on their own initiative on a day-to-day basis, leading the Public Affairs & Civic Mission Team to deliver high-quality support to senior management and the wider university community.
