As we celebrate 75 years of academic excellence and transatlantic collaboration, we are looking for a new Scottish Trustee to join our board.

The US-UK Fulbright Commission’s mission is to advance knowledge, promote civic engagement and develop compassionate leaders through education exchange between the peoples of the US and the UK and our vision is for a world in which there are no obstacles to learning, understanding and collaboration. We are governed by a Board of Commissioners (Trustees) made up of both American and British citizens including one from Scotland.

Our new Scottish Trustee will have an in-depth knowledge of the higher education sector in the UK and the ability to add value in achieving the Commission’s fundraising goals. Experience of communications and media sectors would be preferred at this time.

The successful candidate will be passionate about our mission and motivated to drive forward our goals of promoting diversity, equity and inclusion across our programming and of making a meaningful contribution to solving global challenges. They will be leaders or innovators in their field and have the proven ability to provide strategic direction. They will also need to possess the highest standards of personal integrity and be committed to a culture of respect, dialogue and debate.

The Trustees meet three times a year, with various Trustee committees meeting regularly in between. The position is unremunerated, non-executive and for a three-year term which can be renewed for a further three years. Interviews will take place in late May/early June and the term will start on 1st September.
