The University of Exeter is one of the world’s leading universities. A member of the Russell Group of top UK research-intensive universities, it has been placed 137th in the world according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, and ranks in the top 15, in prestigious national league tables.
The University has a proud history and has grown from its roots in the Southwest of England to be a truly inclusive and diverse global university with a community of around 30,000 students from over 150 countries and 7,000 staff across four campuses in Devon and Cornwall, as well as alumni, academics and global university partners that bring the world to Exeter and take Exeter to the world.
This is an exciting time for the University. In October 2021, we launched our ambitious Strategy 2030, which aims to use our outstanding education, research, and global connections to create a sustainable, healthy and socially just future. Our international community is a critical part our identity and it is in this context that we are seeking to appoint a new Associate Director of International Student Recruitment, to help us reach new markets and continue to diversify our student body.
The new Associate Director of International Student Recruitment will be responsible for managing and leading the International Student Recruitment Team, including the Head of International Student Recruitment and the Head of International Operations. They will build strong, productive relationships with our global network of agents and partners for the University of Exeter. The Associate Director will also lead on building recruitment activity in existing markets and establishing the University’s presence in new geographies and will help enhance and disseminate Exeter’s reputation and brand internationally.
The Associate Director will help refine systems and processes to ensure strong, data-driven decision making, working closely with internal stakeholders to understand our current offer and translating this for international audiences. The postholder will be familiar with international recruitment trends and will horizon scan and help prepare the University for future developments.
We are seeking an individual with strong international recruitment and leadership experience. They will possess strong interpersonal skills to inspire and motivate the team and will have a good depth of experience in data-driven decision making and line management.
The University of Exeter is committed to creating an inclusive culture where all members of the community are supported to thrive; where diverse voices are heard through engagement with evidence-based charter frameworks for gender (Athena SWAN), race equality (Race Equality Charter Mark), LGBTQ+ inclusion (Stonewall Diversity Champion), and as a Disability Confident employer. Whilst all applicants will be judged on merit alone, applications from groups currently underrepresented within the working community are particularly welcomed.
