Undeb Bangor (Bangor University Students’ Union) is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual as Director for the Students’ Unions over an interim period of maternity cover. Our director role is a crucial one within the organisation and we are looking to appoint an experienced individual to continue the development and growth of our Union over this period.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, candidates will have proven strategic leadership experience in a diverse and complex organisation as well as excelling in the effective management of stakeholder relationships and expectations.
You will understand the Higher Education and Students’ Union sector and have demonstrable experience of shaping organisational work and services around the needs and aspirations of students.
You will thrive in an environment which changes its student leadership annually and will have the skills to help the elected Sabbatical Officers hone their ideas, achieve their goals, and engage, enthuse, and empower our student membership. You will also be passionate about the Welsh language understanding the importance of working in a bilingual environment.

This role will be located on campus at Bangor. Through our Dynamic Working framework, there will also be the option to spend some time working remotely within the UK to support work life balance. It is expected that the interim director will be required on site 2 days per week as a minimum, but flexibility may vary throughout the year, and working arrangements will be discussed further with candidates at interview.
The post may also be offered as a secondment opportunity and applications for secondment are welcome.

The relocation package is offered as a contribution towards costs incurred, and is designed to be flexible, allowing staff to use the financial support available in the way that will be most helpful to them.
