The opportunity

The Senior Curriculum Developer will play an integral role in ensuring that the University’s approach to programme development and enhancement is current and informed by developing sector practice. You will support the Curriculum Development Lead and Senior Management Team to establish a sustainable enhancement model that supports and empowers Schools to design and continually enhance innovative, meaningful and engaging programmes of study.

Take responsibility for the University’s Programme Enhancement Planning and Module Summary Review processes for both home and partner provision, acting as a key point of contact for Programme Directors and Module Leaders for support and guidance in the continuous enhancement of their provision.

Ensure that the University’s approach to the monitoring of programme and module health is informed by robust and meaningful data and, working closely with the Data Coordinator, ensure that the Programme Enhancement Planning and Module Summary Review processes continue to draw on the most relevant and appropriate data sources.

Supporting the Curriculum Development Lead, work closely with colleagues in Schools, Partners and QED to ensure that the University’s approach to curriculum development and approval is aligned with our ambitions in Learning, Teaching and Student Engagement within the University’s goals in Strategy 2030.

Contribute to the professional learning programme delivered by QED – facilitating the sharing of good practice and innovation in curriculum development and enhancement within and across disciplines including organising workshops and staff development events for internal and external staff.

What we are looking for

Initial degree or equivalent qualification.

Evidence of continuous professional development.

Knowledge of sector leading practice in curriculum development and programme enhancement.

Secure knowledge of quality processes relevant to curriculum development and enhancement.

Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to lead, motivate and advise effectively to secure stakeholder engagement and consensus regarding process or policy development.

Ability to provide creative and effective solutions to complex problems.

Ability to improve standards of performance in relation to curriculum development and programme enhancement.

Experience of delivering high quality staff development/training.

Experience of collating and analysing data and reporting outcomes.

Lived experience of curriculum design and enhancement of programmes.

Willingness to undergo further development and training as required.

Willingness to undertake UK and overseas travel.

An outcome-focused approach.
