The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the collaborative, friendly and evolving Professional Services team of Cardiff School of Technologies. You will be an enthusiastic, professional, and positive individual, with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.

This is an interesting and varied position responsible for the co-ordination and support for the Dean of School and the Senior Management and Planning Team, including co-ordination of the School’s recruitment and selection processes. You will also take a lead role in ensuring that the School’s policies and procedures are in line with Cardiff Metropolitan University’s commitment to non-academic quality measures and assessments including Athena Swan, Welsh Language Standards, Sustainability and Equality and Diversity in the Workplace.

What we are looking for

Undergraduate degree or relevant professional experience.

Experience of working in a professional environment in support of senior managers.

Experience of providing excellent customer service.

Excellent literacy, numeracy & financial skills.

Demonstrable ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy at all times.

Excellent attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrable ability to organise, plan, prioritise and multi-task, producing work of high quality and within competing deadlines.

Demonstrable ability to use own initiative and provide solutions to complex problems.

Ability to work in an agile and flexible manner.

Demonstrable ability to use Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and bespoke IT systems.
