Executive Director

Expires

4th February 2024

Are you an effective leader and excellent communicator?

Do you have the gravitas to inspire and influence AGCAS’s internal stakeholders, together with external stakeholders including the government, media and wider higher education (HE) sector?

AGCAS is the UK and Ireland expert membership organisation for higher education student career development and graduate employment professionals. Through our members, we support the best possible career outcomes from higher education for individuals, institutions, society and the economy. Through the reach and expertise of our members, AGCAS is recognised as the expert organisation on HE student career development and graduate employment in the UK (and in partnership with AHECS in Ireland).

This is significant period as we set out to find our next Executive Director. Working closely with the Board and senior management team, the Executive will inform, develop and deliver the AGCAS strategic plan. The successful candidate must embrace organisational development and change, inspiring confidence from the AGCAS membership, AGCAS team and external stakeholders.

At a strategic level, you will be required to represent and champion the HE careers sector, communicating with and influencing government, media and key organisations across the wider HE sector and student and graduate employability community. External relations and thought leadership should be seen as operating through both formal and informal routes of engagement and relationship building, to ensure AGCAS is a key contributor to policy development before, during and after consultation, cementing its position as the authoritative and expert voice in the field. You will continually develop your expertise and in depth understanding of careers and employability within the broader HE landscape, through engaging frequently with the membership and key stakeholders. You will be commercially astute and will secure and drive income generation for AGCAS, ensuring its ongoing commercial viability through new income streams and the management of supplier relationships.
