The opportunity
The principal function of this highly visible post is to provide high-quality executive support to the Vice Chancellor’s Executive Group (VCEG) alongside the preparation and minuting of VCEG meetings. Working in conjunction with the Executive Officer to the Vice-Chancellor, the post-holder will ensure a comprehensive and confidential administrative service to the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive Group in the delivery of all aspects of the University’s Strategic Plan.
The Vice-Chancellor’s office is a fast-paced and often pressured environment. The postholder will be expected to manage competing demands, dealing with wide-ranging and complex priorities, exercising a high level of personal responsibility and confidentiality with sensitive University information at all times, both within and outside the University.
The postholder will be skilled in managing conflicting priorities and apply a common-sense approach to resolving sensitive and complex matters.
What we are looking for
-Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills with an ability to think proactively and prioritise work.
-Effective communication skills – oral, presentational and written. In particular, the ability to draft presentations and reports, briefs and minutes.
-Excellent planning, time-management and organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, without compromising on quality.
-Complete discretion, recognising the confidentiality required in relation to the work of the VC’s Office.
-Team player, maintaining a positive and friendly ambience within the office environment.
