Universities have responded to the opportunity to offer higher and degree apprenticeships with some success – in fact, higher and degree apprenticeship growth is outpacing that at levels two and three. UCAS has announced that apprenticeship opportunities will now be published alongside university options – and 59 per cent of young people say they are open to an apprenticeship.

As degree apprenticeships enter the next phase of their development – potentially with a new policy framework under a new government – the success of apprenticeships will depend on universities’ appetite and strategic drive to deliver higher and degree apprenticeships at scale. This event will explore what it takes for degree apprenticeships to move from being a valued but small-scale sideline to core business for the university sector.
