David Lunn is a research fellow and UCU branch secretary at SOAS University of London. His teaching and research interests focus on South Asian literary and cultural studies, particularly Hindi and Urdu literature, as well as postcolonial and queer studies.
David received his PhD from SOAS in 2012, following an MA from SOAS and BA from the University of Cambridge. He then joined the European Research Council project Musical Transitions to European Colonialism in the Eastern Indian Ocean, at King’s College London. He returned to SOAS in 2015. His work has been published in Modern Asian Studies, Bioscope, Indonesia and the Malay World, and he is the editor of the 10-volume Life and Works of Simon Digby, forthcoming from Oxford University Press. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society.
