Simon joined the railways in 1976 and worked through five clerical and five management grades before leaving as a railway executive in 1999. Since then he has operated through his own limited company, offering consultancy, advisory and operational services, primarily in the public sector, including central and local government, housing and higher education.
As well as operational roles his assignments have covered change, leadership and project management plus strategy and planning and day to day operations. Simon also provides individual coaching to executives and managers. He has worked with seven HEIs, in all parts of the sector, including covering two Human Resources Director roles, one of which was combined with the Director of Transformation.
