Stan Taylor is an Honorary Professor of the School of Education at Durham University, with a specialist research interest in doctoral education. He has a number of publications in this field including (with Margaret Kiley and Robin Humphrey) A Handbook for Doctoral Supervisors (Routledge, 2018). He is a former member of the Executive of the UK Council for Graduate Education and Chair of its Research Supervisor Network. He has worked closely with colleagues in the UKCGE to devise the supervisor recognition scheme, including designing the Framework for Good Supervisory Practice. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
